Sculpture allows a wonderful thing to happen as your mind must adapt to actually working in three dimensions rather than trying to create the illusion of three dimensional form on a two dimensional surface. I learned to sculpt the human form from the model working with renowned Toronto based sculptor Adrianne Allison at the Haliburton School of the Arts.

Beneath the lie of gravity that binds us marrow and locus To the spot In an instant of elusive clarity, a clearing in the fog We do indeed come to that crossing over; the Tigress and Euphrates of body and mind With the desert descent in between Where paradise on earth is forever ground down Like a sepiaed lens So that we all might see it clearly As an Impressionist painting simply sharpened up at the edges The invisible seams of life that ultimately hold us dear
