ARTIST STATEMENT
There is an unassuming and unspoken beauty in our inherent imperfection as human beings.
As we travel together this sacred circle of growth, decline, and dissolution, there will be moments when this simple truth will shine through.
As an artist it is not so much the physical form that I am trying to capture. Quantum physics makes it clear that the material world we hold so much stock in is just as much an illusion as any piece of art. As the lines between what we recognize as spirituality and science continue to blur, I fall back on the creative process to try to make sense of being.
Much of my art attempts to create at least the sense or feeling of this energy that disguises itself as form.
In the undeniable transience of beings and things there is an authenticity that is quite easy to miss if you are not sometimes still and open to really see what is (for lack of a better word) the "truth" beneath the facade.
